A bar or bat mitzvah is a full day with a lot of moving parts: the service, the Torah reading, family photos, the kiddush, and the party that follows. I'll help you think through the timeline so nothing gets missed, and photograph it all in a way that feels natural and unobtrusive.
Calm coverage for a big day
Mitzvah days move fast. Between the service, family photos, and the celebration, there's a lot to keep track of. I'll plan ahead with you so the photo timeline fits naturally into the day with no stress, no missing moments, no pulling people away from the fun for too long.
My approach is the same as every session I shoot: plan thoroughly, stay organized, and keep things relaxed so the photos feel genuine. You and your child should be able to enjoy the day.
How it works
1. WE PLAN THE TIMELINE
We'll talk through the schedule: service start time, Torah honors, kiddush, family photos, and the transition to the party. I'll help you figure out where photos fit naturally so nothing feels rushed or interrupted.
2. WE DO A PRE-MITZVAH PORTRAIT SESSION
Before the big day, we'll do a relaxed 1-hour portrait session with your child. This gives them a chance to get comfortable in front of the camera, and gives you polished portraits you can use for invitations, displays, or social media, without trying to squeeze them in on the day of.
3. I PHOTOGRAPH THE DAY
I'll arrive early, coordinate with your synagogue or venue, and photograph the service, family moments, and celebration as it happens. I'll also guide you through family group photos so they go quickly and smoothly. Where your synagogue has photography guidelines or restrictions during the service, I'll follow them and plan accordingly so you still get the coverage you want.
4. YOU RECEIVE YOUR PHOTOS
You'll receive sneak peek photos within 48 hours, and the full edited gallery within two weeks. Your online gallery includes built-in ordering for albums, prints, and wall art, so family members can order what they want, directly from the gallery.
